Acne tips, treatments and advice

Trust no remedies that claim to erase acne over night, it is impossible! Acne can be cleared but it takes the correct products, routine and time!

Just because a product says it is for Acne, does not mean it will work. It is more important to find something hypoallergenic, gentle and fragrance free like L'oreal skin perfection sensitive.

Again just because it says 'oil free' doesn't mean it will work. Those with acne and particularly those with oily skin actually benefit from oil cleansing once or twice a week to balance oils and stop your skin from over compensating.
Oil cleansing.
Use a base oil such as grapeseed oil then add few drops of 2/3 other oils that suit your skins needs, mix together.
hold your face over steam to open pores, massage oil into face very gently for around 1 min. gently wipe off with muslin cloth. finish by rinsing face with warm water.

Use only natural ingredients where possible. Salycilic acid and benzoyl peroxide do have good effects on acne but can be very irritating. Use honey, tea tree oil, rose oil, oats, apples etc there is so much to choose from, and it's all just as effective, and much kinder to our skin.

DO NOT use toothpaste on acne. although it will dry out your spot, it is not good for skin and tis will show after time. if your going to treat acne, wash face , wait half an hour and then apply cream with clean hands. Do this before bed ad it is more effective when we are sleeping!

Find what works for you ! dont think just because something works for others it will work for you! also when testing new products, do this one at a time so you can see if it has any effects, expect to wait for at least 2 weeks to see any difference, good or bad!

We hear it all the the time, but it is so important! if you use make up brushes they should be cleaned regularly. make up brushes hold oils, old make up and bacteria. if you use your hands to apply then you should wash your hands thoroughly before touching your face.

Another thing we are sick of hearing is drink more water! but its true. our bodies need plenty of water to function and our skin is a living organ, it needs water.

You must use moisturiser, even if you have oily skin. oil and moisture are 2 different things. our skin needs them both, so don't assume you have moisture in your skin if you are oily.

I have tried just about every acne treatment inside and out. However the only thing that has given me vast improvement is sunbathing. im not necessarily encouraging the use of sunbeds or sunbathing but it did improve my skin to a point I never thought was possible. I still have a good routine which definitely helos alot, but sunbathing has been my secret to clear skin.
