Baby Food First Purree Recipes. Suitable From 6 Months

My baby was and still is a fussy eater, we had such a hard time getting him to eat anything, he wouldn't eat any of the dried baby porridge or ligas or anything... So here are some recipes that worked for him, even now at 17 months it is still a struggle to feed him, he didn't eat solids properly until 10 months because of his sensitive gag reflex and can only now handle lumpier foods but still no solid foods or finger foods

Breakfast I mix porridge oats with water (as he hated milk) and cook it in the microwave for 3 minutes Then take it out and using a hand blender (5-10 dollars/ 5 euro in local supermarket, it's really needed) blend the cooked porridge in a fine paste, add more boiled water as needed Or 1 wheatabix with hot milk mixed completely into a paste (more grainy but good for getting them used to textures)

I make a batch of his lunch and dinners and I freeze them in portion sizes. I recommend getting some of the avent storage pots or even a ice cube tray will do, pop 2 or 3 cubes into a bowl and heat in the microwave. I normally make enough for at least 4 or 5 days..

Lunch 1 large sweet potato and 4 parsnips Boil them together until soft, put some of the water into a separate cup or bowl to keep to add it if the consistency is too thick. Then blend with a hand blender adding the water as needed

Dinner 3 medium potatoes and 1 small bag of frozen veggies, (carrots, cauliflower and broccoli work best as corn and peas have shells which can't be completely purred and the baby might not like it) Same as the lunch boil together and blend adding the water as needed

There are many other things I have tried with my son but he is pretty set in his ways and won't eat any thing else lol... Snack Half a banana and a strawberry yogurt (with no bits) ... Mash the banana with a fork and mix with the yogurt
