Beauty Hacks: Makeup Edition

Puffy eyes

Use a light and creamy, yellow-based concealer two shades lighter than your skin tone. Dot on concealer to the semi-circle shadow that the bag creates - not under the eye. Use your finger or a damp sponge to blend.

Cover up dark circles by applying concealer in a triangle shape. Again, use a creamy, yellow-based concealer 2 shades lighter than your skin tone to cancel out the blue.

Color your entire lid with white eyeliner to make eyeshadow colors POP.

Turn any eyeliner pencil into super-intense gel liner.

Forgo eyeshadow and instead, crosshatch gel liner onto lids and blend for long-lasting, budge-proof coverage.

When going for a dramatic winged look, draw the outline of the shape, and then fill it in.

Use a spoon to get the perfect wing shape for your eyeliner.

Get perfect angles using a business card.

For Mascara:

Curl lashes first.
Place card behind your upper lashes and gently lift.
Place wand at the base of your lash line and wiggle it in between your lashes for added definition.
Pull wand up throughout lashes and continue past them a bit.

However wide or narrow you want your nose to look, is where your eyebrows should start.

Follow this pattern for contouring.

You can wear cream foundation as is for opaque, full coverage, or you can break it down to be more translucent by mixing it with some primer.

Apply your lipliner like this to get an even Cupid’s bow shape.

Use matte or satin lip color to cover the lips entirely.

Dip finger in a frosted eyeshadow (highlighting color).

Slightly open your mouth and “stamp” your finger directly in the center of both your top and bottom lips.

Longer Lasting Lipstick

After you have applied your lipstick, hold a tissue over your lips and lightly dust translucent powder over the tissue.

Plump Pucker

After your lip balm, apply a few drops of peppermint OR cinnamon leaf oil to your lips. Proceed with your normal lip routine.

Avoid getting lipstick on your teeth, stick your finger in your mouth and pull it out and/or use the Pageant Method: apply a thin layer of Vaseline to your teeth. Sounds weird, but it works.
