Best Hair Mask For Damaged Hair
posted in Hair on 1/12/2015
So here's the thing.. I have naturally curly hair and I have literally tried everything to fix my split ends due to applying heat on a daily basis. I usually blow dry, straighten then curl my hair so you can imagine how dry and fried it is. I have read many tips on using the olive oil mask and I didn't find great results. All I want is long and healthy hair but how can I do that if I still want to use heat products and nothing seems to revive my hair? Keep reading to find out my hair mask recipe that will literally change your hair completely...

First ingredient.. COCONUT OIL. Coconut oil is great for your hair and especially if you have naturally curly hair as our hair is more porous than straight hair. Depending on how much of the mask you want to make, I usually make it the most abundant ingredient. 2 weeks worth: use 1 cup

2nd ingredient: olive oil! Again, olive oil is great for those split ends and heat damaged and porous locks. For 2 weeks worth of mask I usually add half a cup of olive oil. But the quantity is not important. As long as all the ingredients are in there you can play around with quantity.

3rd ingredient: honey! Yes this sticky, wonderful liquid is absolutely amazing in repairing damaged hair and can also help lighten highlighted or natural blonde hair as well. Honey is an all around great ingredient to use in hair to help build strength. 2 weeks worth: approx 2-4 tablespoons

4th ingredient: Avocado! This super food is great for every aspect of our health and beauty concerns. Use either half or a full avocado. It will soften your hair and leave it stronger with a lustrous shine.

5th ingredient: Eggs! Use 1-2 full eggs. More can be used depending on your preferences and quantity of mask you are making. For 2 weeks worth I would recommend using 2-3 large eggs. (Yolks and whites)

6th ingredient: CINNAMON! Cinnamon is great for promoting blood circulation in which results in hair growth! Add as much cinnamon as you prefer. Don't use too much though as it may irritate a sensitive scalp. For 2 weeks worth of mask I would recommend adding 1-2 tablespoons.
Add all of the ingredients into a blender. Blend all ingredients together. (Use lower setting: purée if available) when all of the ingredients are well mixed put the mixture into a ziplock container or better yet, a glass jar. Apply mask to hair (use enough to fully saturate hair, focusing on ends). Save the rest for later and put a plastic bag or shower cap over your hair and apply low heat using a hair dryer for a few minutes. Allow the mask to penetrate into hair for as long as possible. Even if you leave the mask in for 10 mins you will see results, but the longer the better.

Don't blend mask too long or on too high of setting or the oil will start to separate. The goal is to have the mask almost fluffy. It is completely fine if you do over blend the ingredients though, the benefits are still there and will show. It just applies nicer with less mess if "fluffy" it is also more appealing if gifting this hair mask to a friend/family.
