Chili-Mac Dogs Bring A Sizzling Plate Of Freshly Grilled Franks To Life

These dogs are piled high with unexpected food pairings.
Ingredients:
1 recipe Grilled Hot Dogs
8 ounces deli macaroni salad
1 1/3 cups prepared chili, warmed
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (2 ounces)
1/2 cup crushed corn chips
1/2 cup chopped red onion (1 medium)
1/4 cup snipped fresh cilantro
1 8 ounce carton sour cream* (optional)
Toast buns from Grilled Hot Dogs. Spread each bun with about 2 tablespoons of the macaroni salad. Place grilled frankfurters in toasted buns. Spoon a generous 2 tablespoons of the warm chili over each frankfurter. Sprinkle with cheese, corn chips, onion, and cilantro. If desired, top with sour cream
Grilled hotdogs:
8 frankfurters or smoked chicken, kielbasa, or bratwurst sausage links
8 frankfurter buns, split
For a charcoal or gas grill, place frankfurters on the rack of a covered grill directly over medium heat. Grill for 3 to 7 minutes or until heated through, turning occasionally. Remove from grill. If desired, place 8 frankfurter buns, cut sides down, on grill rack. Grill for 1 to 2 minutes or until
lightly browned. Serve frankfurters in buns as directed in individual recipes.
