Chocolate Pecan Pie

3 large eggs
1 C. light corn syrup
1/3 C. brown sugar
1/3 C. white sugar
1/3 C. unsalted butter, melted
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 C. pecan pieces
3/4 C. semi sweet chocolate chips
1 9" unbaked pie shell
Place the pie shell on a baking sheet lined with tinfoil. Spread the chocolate chips around the bottom of the pie shell. In a bowl beat the eggs and add in the corn syrup, both sugars, melted butter, salt and vanilla. Whisk to combine well. Stir in the pecans and pour into the pie shell. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45-50 minutes or until set. It will still seem a little wobbly but should be somewhat firm when gently touched. It will deflate once out of the oven. Let cool for 2 hours then cover and put in the fridge.
