DIY – Olive Oil Mask For Long, Healthy Hair

What you’ll need: - 2 egg yolks (1 less for hair chin-length and shorter, 1 more for hair past your biceps) - 2 tablespoons of olive oil - 1 cup of water - 1 microwave-safe cereal bowl - A microwave - Your fried head of hair (Don’t worry, there’s light at the end of the tunnel!) - A shower to rinse in

Take the egg yolks, olive oil, and water and stir together in the bowl using whatever utensil you can find in your kitchen. You don’t necessarily need to whisk the eggs, so don’t panic about the mixture’s consistency. You do, however, want to make sure that the ingredients blend together fairly evenly so take the time to stir the ingredients very well. Put the bowl in the microwave and heat for 10-15 seconds. The mixture should be slightly warmed but by no means hot.

Take the mixture and apply it with clean fingers to hair that has not been washed that day but also does not have product in it. Massage the mask slowly into your hair, starting from the scalp and working your way through the ends. It is important to give yourself a head massage in order to stimulate hair growth.

You can leave the mask on for 20 to 30 minutes, depending on how badly you need to moisturize, and then you can jump in the shower and rinse the mixture out. Don’t shampoo, but rather rinse for a full 10 minutes so that the mask is completely removed from the scalp. Towel dry your hair and gently comb. If you plan to style your hair, be sure to use a heat protectant spray or cream and only put it up with hair ties that gently hold your hair in place, like Emi-Jays.

Your hair should now feel remarkably silky after the all-natural mask has been removed. Repeat biweekly for the rest of the summer for best results.
