Delicious Slow Cooker Oatmeal!
posted in Food & Drink on 3/5/2014

Take your slow cooker out and sleep in for a while! Take your favorite oatmeal and add the appropriate amounts of water and oats (according to the directions) to the slow cooker. You're doing this the night before, so if you have time chop up your favorite fruit!
Now that all ingredients are in your slow cooker, give it a little stir until everything is wet. Put the top on and put the slow cooker on WARM, NOT LOW. It'll cook overnight and be done when you get up. It will come out soft, so if you want to add a little more chew, add uncooked oats to taste.
Fruits that I've tried and work fabulously are blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, apples, pears, raisins, and peaches. Blackberries have seeds and give it a little crunch. You can also add these after the oatmeal is done. Honey and cinnamon also works wonderfully.
Note: This method of making oatmeal is best when making for at least two servings for fear of your oatmeal drying up and burning.
