posted in Recipes on 9/1/2013

What you need:
4 cups packed brown sugar
1 can evaporated milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups packed brown sugar
1 can evaporated milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine brown sugar and milk in sauce pan and stir until the sugar begins to dissolve. Cook over medium – high heat until mixture reaches the softball stage, about 235°. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Mix until smooth and creamy. Pour into a buttered 9 x 9 glass pan and let set.

My grandma used to make this fudge for me as I grew up. I like to make a few batches at Christmas and package them to give as little gifts. The key is to mix and mix the mixture until you can't mix anymore before you pour it in the pan! If your hand isn't sore, your fudge won't set!
