Greek Baklava Recipe!

Greek Baklava Recipe!
This is another dessert recipe I know! It's called Baklava, preferably Greek Baklava (: I first tasted this at a Greek restaurant called Milano's, which is near where I used to live. They also serve Italian and other foods, but there Greek entrees were the best. Anyways, I dug up a similar recipe to there's and decided to try it! It was amazing so I'm going to share it with y'all (: Don't knock it till you try, cause I know it looks weird.
What you'll need for this: 1. 1, 16 ounce package of phyllo dough 2. 1 pound chopped nuts 3. 1 cup butter 4. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 5. 1 cup water 6. 1 cup white sugar 7. 1teaspoon vanilla extract 8. 1/2 cup honey It was never specified to me on which nuts to use, but I prefer almonds in mine.
What you'll need to do: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit. Butter the bottoms and sides of a 9x13 inch pan (or whatever you've got I suppose) 2. Chop nuts and toss with cinnamon. Set aside. 3. Unroll phyllo dough. Cut whole stack in half to fit pan. Cover phyllo with a dampened cloth to keep from drying out as you work. Place two sheets of dough in pan, butter thoroughly. Repeat until you have 8 sheets layered.
Continued: 4. Sprinkle 2 - 3 tablespoons of nut mixture on top. Top with two sheets of dough, butter, nuts, layering as you go. The top layer should be about 6 - 8 sheets deep. 5. Using a sharp knife cut into diamond or square shapes all the way to the bottom of the pan. You may cut into 4 long rows the make diagonal cuts. Bake for about 50 minutes until baklava is golden and crisp.
To make the sauce: Make sauce while baklava is baking. Boil sugar and water until sugar is melted. Add vanilla and honey. Simmer for about 20 minutes. Remove baklava from oven and immediately spoon sauce over it. Let cool. Serve in cupcake papers. - I always more vanilla than I do honey because between me and y'all, honey is just vile in my opinion (; Just a thought!
And that's how you make Greek Baklava! There's also Turkish I believe, but I've never done it so I'm not to positive! When I do this, I also chop up a few bits of strawberries and raspberries and put them on top! It gives it a bit of a sweeter taste (: Hope y'all enjoy!
