How To Keep Fruit And Veggies Fresh Longer

Here are a few ways to keep your fruits and veggies fresh longer.
Bananas- separate them from the bunch. This slows the ripening process. Also stick them in the fridge when they are ripe. This will keep them from over ripening.
Berries- after washing rinse them in hot water. It's called thermotherapy. It helps prevent the growth of mold.
Lettuce- wrap leafy greens in paper towels. This helps with wilting. Same goes for fresh herbs. Wrap them in paper towels. If you have extra left over leave them in the paper towels and put then in a ziplock bag and freeze them.
Also to revive lettuce give it an ice bath.
Tomatoes- leave them out of the fridge. When refrigerated they lose flavor texture.
Apples- stick an onion into the bowl or bag with your apples. They will stay ripe much longer.
