More acidic foods like lemons, some tropical fruits, and even strawberries can have a more astringent effect and some can lighten the skin so donโt leave these on for more than 5 minutes.

Good combos are 1 egg yolk and 1tsp. honey, 2 Tb. avocado and 1 tsp. honey, 1 Tb. yogurt and 1 Tb. mashed banana, 1 Tb. cocoa powder and 2 tsp. milk, 1 egg white and 1 Tb. pumpkin puree, 2 Tb. yogurt and ยผ tsp. turmeric, 1 Tb. melted chocolate and 2 tsp. milk

Do not use foods that burn or sting. Wash them off immediately.
Do not use foods that you are allergic to. If you are uncertain about using certain foods, do a spot test on your arm or behind your ear.

Some fruits can just be rubbed on the face and neck without pureeing first, like strawberries, watermelon, papaya, and grapes cut in half.
Handle raw commercial eggs with caution, making sure to not get them in your mouth and clean utensils well to prevent salmonella contamination.
Cornmeal, sugar, coffee grounds and ground nuts have an exfoliating effect.
1 drop of essential oils can be added if you do not like the smell of your food mask. For instance, some people do not like the smell of milk powder, though it makes a great base for food masks.
