How To Pet-proof Your Home
posted in Family & Kids on 7/16/2014

- Instead of a carpeted flooring, having a wooden flooring is advisable, as keeping a pet means constantly having to clean the floor. Since your pet will wet the floor, or shed fur, vacuuming the carpet will become tiresome.
- Just like you would do with young kids, keep all breakable articles out of reach. If you have any valuables vases or any other showpiece that is fragile, stow it away safely in the cupboard. Pets like cats and dogs who like to jump around the room can break them.
- Don't forget to keep things like bathroom cleaners, phenyl, insecticide sprays etc safely hidden. There is a possibility that your pet can gain access to them and can cause itself bodily harm. Do the same with medicines and toiletries.
- Whenever you open your windows for fresh air, keep an eye on your pet or install a screen. You pet, if it's a cat, dog or a bird, might escape or fall out of the window.
