To make our ice paints, I filled an ice cube tray with washable tempera paint, and popped it in the freezer. You can dilute your ice paint by filling the ice cube tray with 1/2 water and 1/2 paint, but I prefer not to dilute mine because I love the vibrant colors of using just paint.
You could also just use food coloring and paint with ice that way!!!

As the paint melted, the colors swirled together to create a beautiful work of art!

I filled a few ice cube trays with kool-aid ice so that Jewel could enjoy edible, baby safe sensory ice painting. The colors were so vibrant and the girls got to explore with all of their senses. The kool-aid ice smelled AMAZING!!!!!

To make kool-aid ice just add a bit of varying kool-aid powders to your ice tray and stir before placing in the freezer. Easy peasy and SO FUN!
