The basis for healthy hair starts with washing - ideally you should wash every 2 days, however I typically wash every day because I am blonde and have more hair follicles, and grease shows up much easier. Use an anti-breakage shampoo and conditioner (do not use Pantene)

When heat styling, let hair air dry at least 60% before using any heat such as a hair dryer on your strands, and spray thoroughly with a heat protection spray. This will prevent breakage.

Once a week, do a coconut oil masque on your hair. It is a thicker oil so you can heat it in the microwave for a few seconds to make it more workable, the heat will also help the oil penetrate the hair shaft. Work into hair and cover with a shower cap for a half hour, then rinse with cold water.

Trim hair every 6 TO 8 weeks! I know cutting your hair seems counterintuitive when you are trying to grow it, however hair growth plateaus when you have split ends as the breakage can make its way up the hair shaft. Keeping the ends neat will help your hair grow long.
