Kickin Hot Sauce-- Super Easy To Make!!

posted in Recipes on 7/26/2015
1 onion, coarsely chopped 1 clove of garlic, minced or grated 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon Adobo seasoning (the one I used contained pepper) 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1 tablespoon bacon grease or whatever oil you have One 7 oz can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce One 7 oz can of chopped green chiles One 4 oz can of sliced jalapeños One 12 oz can of diced tomatoes
1). Put bacon grease (or other oil, I use bacon grease for flavor. It isn't the healthiest choice, so use whatever oil you want) in frying pan over medium heat. Once oil is hot, add the onion and garlic. Add the onion powder, garlic powder, adobo seasoning, salt, and pepper to the onions and garlic. Once translucent, onions and garlic to a blender. 2). Take all the canned items and throw them in the blender as well. Blend. If thick, add a half cup of water. 3). Take a bowl, and place a mesh strainer in bowl. Pour sauce in strainer for smooth sauce, do not strain for thick sauce. Enjoy!
This is just something I threw together, if you like it hotter, I like to add cayenne pepper or ghost pepper (to taste). If you like it milder, do not add the sliced jalapeños, but do add maybe a tablespoon of vinegar and/or lemon or lime juice to add some acidity, as the sliced jalapeños contain vinegar. This makes a decent amount of hot sauce, maybe about three cups or so. Refrigerate and use as a marinade, a dip, add it to ketchup or mayo, whatever you like. Like and share! Thanks!
