Natural Remedy: Kids Honey Lemon Sore Throat Lollipops
sore throat with cold like symptoms that starts to subside in a few days may not be so serious, however a sore throat that lasts longer, with a fever and enlarged lymph notes, could be something that needs a doctors attention. Today we are talking about a common cold or allergy sore throat. Before moving further, please note: HONEY SHOULD "NOT" BE GIVEN TO CHILDREN 12 MONTHS OR YOUNGER. CONSULT YOUR PEDIATRICIAN FOR ADVISE. THE RISK IS HIGH FOR INFANT BOTULISM.
Honey: we used 1 cup but use as much or as little as you like. Essential Lemon Oil: 3-4 drops if you are comfortable with that or pure organic lemon extract 1 teaspoon Lollipop sticks Candy thermometer nonstick cookie mat or hard candy mold How many lollipops you get will depend on what size you make them.

ready ahead of time your nonstick pad and lollipop sticks so that when the mixture is ready to work with, everything else is too. Using a medium sized pot, place on the stove, add hone, lemon oil and candy thermometer. You want the honey to reach 300 degrees. Once mixture is to temperature take off the heat and work carefully and quickly to spoon out about a teaspoon size bit of honey onto the mat and then place your lollipop stick into the blob. Let honey cool completely before removing.

Since we did not use a mold, sometimes the mixture moved more than others. We like the fact that when that does happen it is all the more homemade looking and perfectly fine.

We had some left over and thought we would pour it into some nonstick heart molds and than use the hearts in a pot of hot tea to flavor it during cold season or any time really.
