Rushing In The Morning?? How To Cook An Egg In The Microwave (Without It Exploding)!!
posted in All on 11/13/2014

Whenever I'm in a rush in the morning and want a healthy, super quick breakfast I microwave a couple eggs and put them on toast as a breakfast sandwich. The whole process takes less than five minutes, has almost no cleanup, and gives you a hot, filling, nutritious breakfast to start your day. Enjoy!

I prefer to use a shallow bowl that has a base about as wide as my hand. Get about a quarter to half cup of water and put it in the bowl (the clear cup is for your reference). Note: if you don't have enough water your eggs may explode in the microwave.

Crack two eggs (or one if you prefer) in the bowl, and DO NOT MIX!

I have a small microwave but it works pretty well, so I put them in for two minutes which usually cooks them almost all the way.

They should look like this: a little clear around the yolks means they are almost done. I usually turn the bowl a little and microwave them an additional 30 seconds. If you want them a little runny you can eat them now.

The whites will be formed around the yolks (the yolks may look runny but they are not). Next you want to tip the bowl and drain the water. The eggs should be slightly adhered to the bowl so you shouldn't need to hold them in place. The eggs stay formed together so all that drains is the water.

And here it is! I run a fork around the edges underneath the egg to loosen them from the bottom. You can eat them like this if you prefer.

I put a little seasoning on mine and put on some spicy avocado mayo, however you can dress them how you want. I suggest using whole wheat like I did so that it keeps you full longer.

The egg yolks may seem like they'd be runny but they're not. They're pretty much solid. If you don't like runny yolks you will love this π Enjoy!
