The Best Chili

posted in Recipes on 8/22/2014
Need: Ground beef Sausage (whatever kind you prefer. I use chicken sausage personally) White onion Kidney beans (I use canned) Pinto beans (I use canned) Can of stewed tomatoes Packet of taco mix such as McCormick's or Lowrey's Tomato sauce Fresh garlic Ketchup Fresh tomatoes Salt Pepper Italian spice
1) Chop 1 onion and 3 cloves of garlic. Place in frying pan over low heat. Add your ground beef to the frying pan and brown the meat. Add sausage when meat is brown for a couple of minutes.
2) in a large pot add one large can of kidney beans and one large can of pinto beans. Add 1 can of stewed tomatoes, one taco packet, 1 can of tomato sauce, and 1/2 cup of ketchup. I usually add about three fresh tomatoes and a pinch of salt, pepper, and Italian spice.
3) add the beef and sausage into the bean mixture. I like to let in simmer together for a few hours. The longer it simmers the more the flavors come out.
Note: you can also make this in a crockpot too instead of on the stove. Just brown the ground beef and then put it in the crock pot along with the rest of the ingredients. Cook it in the crockpot on medium for at least a few hours. If it starts to boil while on medium, you can turn it down to low.
