This "Skin Spatula" Scrubber Works Like a Pore Strip While You Cleanse.

I’ve lost count of the number of exfoliators and scrubs I’ve tried until I tried the Labelle Ultrasonic Skin Spatula ($149). The device itself looks like an oversized old-school razor with a curved edge (immediately intimidating to me) and two settings pictured on the easy-to-grip handle—the "scrubbing" option and the "infusion" setting (more on this one-two punch approach later)—that claims to deliver an exfoliating experience called "ultrasonic skin scrubbing," which you could only previously find in a spa setting.

I learned that the device emits ultrasonic waves at 30,000 Hz per second through the spatula. Surprisingly enough, while the technology is advanced, the instructions are simple. After normally cleansing your face, leave it wet and turn the tool onto the "scrubbing" mode (press the button once). Run the spatula over your most congested areas (for me, this is my nose) and watch as dirt, oil and leftover makeup your handy wipes didn’t get rid of get scraped out of your pores. Plus, this is where the ultrasonic waves get to work, uprooting even the most stubborn blackheads out of their place.

Once your at-home scrubbing treatment is completed, wipe the spatula down (kind of gross but weirdly satisfying) and apply a layer of your favorite serum or moisturizer without rubbing it in—let it sit on your face. Switch the device to the "infusion setting" (press the button twice) and flip it over so that the flat part of the angle is sitting against your skin.

As you glide the spatula over your entire face in circular motions, the device emits ions that allow the ingredients in the products to better penetrate your skin at a much deeper level than what you could do with your hands. After one use, my skin was softer and smoother with less blackheads to be found. Use this device once a week for a DIY deep-clean your cleanser won’t deliver on its own.
