Use Coconut Oil As A Makeup Remover
You just need some coconut oil and one of the following: facial tissues, cotton balls, or cotton swabs. I use organic extra virgin coconut oil. Larger retailers like Walmart, Target, and Meijer keep this type in the pharmacy department by the dietary supplements. It runs around $13 for 16 oz. When I open a new jar, I scoop about 2-3 ounces of the oil into a small, airtight container. I use this stuff in the kitchen as well, so I don't want to contaminate the whole thing!
Step 1: Hold the small container of oil in the palm of your hand to soften it. Coconut oil is usually solid at room temperature, but has a melting point somewhere around 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Your body heat should soften it up nicely.
Step 2: Dip your tissue/swab/cotton ball into the softened oil so you get just enough to feel it coat the surface.
Step 3: Gently wipe off your makeup! I like to wear heavy pinup-style eye makeup, so this takes a few tissues. You should see it come off really easily.
Step 4: You can either dab off excess coconut oil with a tissue, or continue cleansing with your regular routine.
Bonus step!: Use the coconut oil as an overnight moisturizer! I use a cotton ball to apply it as a moisturizer to keep it from being too heavy on my face. It's great for fighting aging lines and acne.
