Need help determining your starting speed? Use this guide: If you consider yourself a beginner, you're new to running, or you run very little, your starting speed should be between 4.0 to 5.0 miles per hour. If you consider yourself an intermediate runner and you run often, your starting speed should be 5.0 to 6.0 miles per hour. If you consider yourself an advanced runner, you run frequently, and you have lots of experience, your starting speed should be 6.0 to 8.0 miles per hour.
(We recommend printing out the table and putting it on the ledge of your treadmill while you work out to keep yourself on track.) -->
