Apple Pie Moonshine

Seriously, this “moonshine” is amazing. (Don’t worry; it’s not real moonshine, so you aren’t doing anything illegal.)
Prep Time 60 min
Total Time 2 hr 0 min
Servings 50
INGREDIENTS
2 quarts apple juice
2 quarts apple cider
2-4 cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 (750 ml) bottle of 100 to 150 proof alcohol such as vodka or Everclear™
DIRECTIONS
Combine apple juice, cider, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and both sugars in a large stockpot. Heat over medium heat and bring almost to a boil. Reduce to a simmer, and cover. Simmer for about one hour. Cool completely.
Strain out cloves and cinnamon sticks and stir in alcohol. If giving as gifts, pour into sanitized mason jars. Otherwise, serve hot or cold garnished with a cinnamon stick and/or apple slice. (Store in refrigerator).

All you need to do is combine apple juice, apple cider, cinnamon sticks, cloves, brown sugar and white sugar in a stock pot. Bring almost to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cover. Simmer for at least an hour. Allow mixture to cool completely and remove cinnamon sticks and cloves. Pour in 1 bottle of 100 or 150 proof alcohol (such as vodka or Everclear). If not using right away, store in the refrigerator.

This moonshine would make a great gift. Simply pour into sterilized mason jars and seal.

Of course, it may not last that long! Enjoy it hot or cold… garnish with a cinnamon stick and apple slice.
It’s autumn in a jar!
