Halloween Cookie Cauldrons!

Try this for Halloween!
After seeing cookie cup recipes all over pinterest I decided to try them myself! By filling them with tapioca pudding I made the cutest (in my opinion) Halloween dessert; little witches cauldrons! I wont lie, there was some trial and error with the cookie cups. I tried making them by wrapping the cookie dough on the reverse side of the cupcake pan, and the results were scarier than a herd of hungry zombies. I scrapped that plan (and ate the actual scraps) and headed back to the internet to find my Plan B. The next plan worked!!
I used pre-made dark chocolate cookie dough because it was easier, and I’d cry a lot less if I wasted that than if I wasted a whole batch of homemade dough! I broke the cookie squares apart and then rolled two squares together into one ball. I put each ball into a silicone cupcake liner, in the cupcake pan (I did this for ease of removal!) I baked the cookies at 350* for approximately 16 minutes (Until the edges are starting to get crisp) I then used a small glass to press into the cookie and create the bowl shape.
The cookies may be a little bit soft in the middle, if they are still too gooey for your liking you can pop them back into the over until they are cooked they way you like them. Once cooled, pop the cups out of the silicone liners and put on a plate.

Now it’s time to add the pudding! I used tapioca because I thought it would look more bubbly, like witches brew, but you could also use vanilla pudding if you prefer. I added in a few drops of neon green food coloring, mixed it up, and scooped it into the cookie cups!

They looked creepy, but I wanted to add more spooky elements! I had picked up some candy eyes and some festive Halloween sprinkles to add to the top. And with those little touches, my cookie cauldrons were complete! I only wish I’d thought to add a little pretzel stick to “stir” the brew!
