How To Be Really Hot!
posted in Beauty on 2/8/2016

Being hot isn't about looking like Beyonce or being perfect - it's about looking and being the best you can. Here's some tips on how to make the most of yourself!

IMPROVE YOUR PHYSIQUE...
Of course being hot is subjective, if you're happy with how you look then don't change! If you do want to change, working out regularly and eating healthily will play a massive part in getting you physically fit. These will not only make you look fit and toned, but will work wonders for your skin and hair also.
What exercise you do depends very much on where you are currently in terms of fitness and what you want to improve. For example:
Exercises working on:
- Stomach: Sit ups, planks, etc.
- Legs and butt: Squats, lunges, leg kicks, step ups etc.
- Arms: Push ups, weights, punches etc.

Try this as an all round workout.

Here are some foods to boost your metabolism, and in turn help you lose weight.

Protein is important in building muscle. We all know meat contains protein. But many vegetables contain more protein per calorie, meaning with the right veg, you can get the protein you need without consuming too many calories.

USE THE RIGHT MAKEUP...
Let's just get this straight, no one looks perfect without makeup. But that doesn't mean you have to completely cover your face in makeup.
For special occasions, it's okay to go a bit overboard but for every day makeup, you should use as little as you can get away with.
Here's a quick (and adjustable) guide to every day makeup:
- Conceal spots and other blemishes. Colour correct if necessary.
- Apply a light foundation over the face.
- Fill in brows.
- Apply a light coat of mascara.
- If necessary, contour SLIGHTLY. Or just strobe (only use highlighter)
Makeup is useful for drawing attention to certain areas while drawing attention away from other areas. You should highlight areas you want to protrude (cheekbones, jawline etc.) and contour areas you want to recede (under cheekbones, side of nose etc.).
You should decide what your best features are & focus on making these stand out. If this is your eyes, highlight the inner corners and use white eyeliner on the waterline.
If you have features you don't like, work on making them look better. Fill in sparse brows or highlight the cupids bow to make lips look bigger.

KEEP HAIR IN GOOD CONDITION...
Nice, soft hair is essential! Here's some tips on keeping your locks luscious:
- Try not to wash hair too much. It strips the natural oils out. You'll find once you stop washing as much, you won't NEED to wash as much. Use dry shampoo between washes.
- Minimize heat. If you can't stop altogether, definitely use a heat protect spray. Try alternatives such as brown sugar and water for straight hair.
- Deep condition weekly.
- Look for products for your hair type, eg. normal/greasy/damaged.
- When washing hair, finish with a cool rinse to seal the cuticle and lock in shine.

KEEP SKIN SOFT AND HEALTHY...
Of course, we can't all have perfect skin. But we can make the most out of what we've got.
- Choose products for your skin type.
- Exfoliate, cleanse, tone and moisturise regularly.
- Use sunscreen everyday to help prevent wrinkles.
- Treat any problems you have. For example, tea tree oil treats spots, coconut oil is good for dry skin.
- Eat healthily and stay hydrated. It'll really show!
- Avoid HOT showers, they'll dry out your skin.

DRESS APPROPRIATELY...
Another thing being hot certainly isn't about is showing everything! You should dress appropriately for said occasion, but remember these tips:
- People tend to be more intrigued by someone who has a good figure, but isn't showing it all...
- ...Legs OR cleavage. And never too much of either.
- Wear what you're comfortable in - you'll be more confident.
- If you have an hourglass figure, show it off with tight dresses. If not, fake one! Try a less tight dress and wear a belt at the thinnest part of your waist.

SMILE!
A nice smile can be very appealing, and vice versa - it can be a big turn off if someone is attractive but either doesn't smile, or has really bad teeth.
Tips for a perfect, white smile:
- Brush teeth twice daily, use mouthwash between brushes and floss.
- Use baking soda and lemon juice to whiten teeth. Strawberries can also help whiten.
- Either keep a bottle of mouthwash handy or chew gum between meals to ensure fresh breath throughout the day.
- Try oil pulling (swishing coconut oil round in mouth for 20 minutes) to improve teeth and gum health.

BE CONFIDENT!
Ok, ok, easier said than done. But there is some easy ways to improve your confidence:
- Using all prior tips will improve your confidence - when you know you look as good as you can, you're less likely to be insecure.
- Improve posture: Stand/sit up straight, shoulders back, spine straight and chin up.
- Wear and do what makes you comfortable - if the prior tips are so not you and aren't what you'd do comfortably, don't do them! Ultimately, feeling comfortable is key to being confident!
- Make eye contact. This is a hard one for some of us but if you can pull it off, do so and you'll appear more confident.
- Accept compliments! This doesn't make you look vain if you just thank them and move the conversation on.
- Remove negative people from your life - these people will make you less confident! It's hard to be confident in a group of peope who constantly judge you etc, so get rid of them! You'll feel a lot better and more confident in general.
- Let go of criticism. It may not even be true and constantly thinking about it will only decrease your confidence.

BE NICE!
Beauty's only skin deep. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that it's the worst thing ever when someone's really attractive but they're just not a nice person. Here's how you can be nice:
- Do nice things for people and help them out when necessary.
- Be approachable - you could be the nicest person ever but if you're sat in a corner on your phone with your arms and legs crossed, you won't be approachable at all, and people will judge you as not being nice.
- Be polite! Manners cost nothing and they get you a long way. It's not hard to say please and thankyou when necessary.
- Be polite! Manners cost nothing and they get you a long way. It's not hard to say please and thankyou when necessary.
- Take an interest in people. Ask them questions when they talk to you, engage in what they're saying.
- If you're not particularly sociable, at least smile and do your best to make conversation.
- Be selfless. (Of course this doesn't mean you should allow yourself to be taken for a mug). People who generally care about others and aren't just out for themselves are lovely people.

BE UNIQUE!
If you're unique, you'll stand out! This isn't a hard one as everyone is unique anyway - we all look very different and have different opinions. The only trick is to embrace this!
- If you have any distinctive features, such as a gap in your teeth or thick brows etc. don't hide them, show them off!
- Try not to follow the crowd and instead create your own style.
- If you generally just wear what you like, without regard to whether your whole wardrobe matches, chances are you'll have created your own style already!
