Definitely start in a warm shower (or bath, but I think shower is easier).

Exfoliate! Ok...I actually didn't do this when I was finding the razor burn dream team solution, but I have started since, and it makes my legs so much smoother if I do! I put some soap on one of these Italy towels (cheap on eBay) and scrub my legs before I shave.

Use THIS Aveeno shave gel in the beginning. Nothing else! The dark blue kind only! Once I fixed the cycle of constant razor burn, I was able to switch to something that made my legs smoother (next slide), but this was a must in the early days. I still keep a can just in case I relapse. =)

This Edge shave gel WITH ALOE is what I use now that razor burn isn't a constant anymore. It makes for a smoother shave than the Aveeno but wasn't good enough to prevent the razor burn at first.

To this day (almost 10 years after the razor burn days), I can only use Shick Quattro with the ALOE blades. I have tried every other product out there. This is the only one that doesn't give me razor burn!

Now dry off...when you get to your legs either pat them dry, or rub downward.

If you do nothing else on this list, finish with Eucerin Calmin Cream lotion. Don't worry...it doesn't burn at all. It is a little pricey, but it is SO worth it! If I have to use a different product than the ones I've listed, this lotion will still save me (as long as it is just one time. Haha).

Last, but not least...enjoy those smooth legs! Put on a pair of shorts or even a bathing suit! Have confidence, because you were beautiful even before you discovered this super secret cure for razor burn!
