posted in Other on 6/10/2015

Step 1: Looking For A Job
You can find jobs anywhere:
- online
- in the newspaper
- advertisements
- recommendations
There are so many opportunities!
✨the BEST way to start your job hunt is to go directly to the employer and request information on job availability.✨
Things to consider:
-Location
-Transportation
(You don't want all of your earnings at your new job to go straight into the car, right?)
-Attire
Dress to impress! (Read on for more info)

Step 2: The Application
The application process is very easy.
-ask whether an application must be brought in a hard copy or sent online
-fill out the information and attach a resume
✨TIP: Don't put down useless skills on your resume that will not pertain to or benefit the job position you are applying for✨
-TURN IN YOUR RESUME ASAP!!
-Employers want to know that you are serious about becoming an employee for them.
-Turning in an application quickly shows that you are taking this process seriously.

Step 3: Phone call #1
-Employers will call you or email you when your application is submitted and they have taken an interest in your application.
✨DO NOT MISS THIS PHONE CALL✨
This call should be within two weeks of sending your application.
-Make sure you are completely available for the upcoming interview

Step 4: What NOT To Wear

Step 5: What TO Wear
Wear something classy, fashionable, simple, and unique according to personality
Girls:
-Put your girls away. You look trashy, unprofessional, slutty, and desperate. No one wants to hire that. Wear something that covers up.
-wear something no higher than three inches above your knee or fingertip length (when arms placed to the side) because of the same things listed above. You're not here to sell your body.
-don't go overboard on the makeup. Go as natural as you can: light base, lip gloss, mascara, and neutral eyeshadow (no eyeliner wings, blush, coloured eyeshadow, etc.)
-no big jewellery!

Step 6: Showing Up To The Interview
-your interview may be a group interview, meaning you will be interviewed in the same room at the same time as your competitors for the same job
-stay calm and do not spend time "sizing up" the competition; focus on yourself
-arrive 10 to 15 minutes early
-make sure there are no clothing malfunctions

Step 7: First Impression
The first 10 seconds of your interview is usually all an employer needs to make the decision whether or not you will get hired, so first impression will make or break your interview
-smile, be polite saying yes ma'am or yes sir
- ✨HAVE A FIRM HANDSHAKE✨
-the handshake is crucial - don't you dare hand them a limp fish for a handshake!
-act NORMAL. Don't sweat, and don't tense up. Be CALM.

Step 8: Eye Contact
-Always have eye contact with the employer
-Dont look away or off to the side
✨DO NOT LOOK AT THE FLOOR. IF YOU LOOK AT THE FLOOR YOU WILL NOT GET THE JOB✨
-Don't creepily stare at the employer; make sure you don't tense up your face.
OTHER NOTES:
-Speak loudly and clearly (not too loud obviously)
-Don't ask about salary
-Be Truthful about everything
-Previous work experience makes landing a job slightly easier

Step 9: The Second Phone Call
THE CALL BACK!!!
✨DONT MISS THIS CALL WHATEVER YOU DO✨
-they will most likely not call you back if you miss your congratulatory phone call
-call backs usually happen between three days to one week (maybe two for some places)
✨✨SUPER TIP: IF YOU ARE APPLYING TO HOLLISTER, ABERCROMBIE, or GILLY HICKS, THEY WILL TELL YOU AFTER THE INTERVIEW THAT IF YOU GOT THE JOB THEY WILL CONTACT YOU IN ONE WEEK. ACTUALLY - THEY WILL CONTACT YOU WITHIN THE FIRST HOUR AFTER YOUR GROUP INTERVIEW IF YOU GOT THE JOB! (So don't expect the job after about 1 hour)✨✨
(It's a secret ssshhhh 😈💜)
