Make Red Lips Last All Night!
posted in Makeup on 8/16/2013

I'm sure you already know how to do the perfect red lip considering how many tutorials there are out there. This one however, is how to make that perfect red lip last.

A common thing said about red lips is to apply foundation to make the color brighter. DONT use liquid foundation! Liquid foundation that isn't set with a powder will just make it easier for your lips to smear.

A cream concealer will do a better job than liquid foundation since you won't need as much product and concealer doesn't need to be set. Dab on a little of this before applying your lipstick!

The obvious tip here but the one often overlooked is to get long lasting lip wear! People will often choose color over quality which can easily ruin a look. Be patient and I promise your ideal color is somewhere out there ready in a long lasting formula.

Don't underestimate the importance of lip balm!! Put on before applying any makeup whatsoever just so you don't forget. This helps your lipstick last longer because later on in the day/night, you won't be able to dab on the balm without ruining your flawless lips! Vaseline also works amazingly.

Translucent powder will help your lipstick set. This can decrease the chance of accidental smudging because I know how bad that can be. The powder has no color but it might make your lips a bit matte. This is not at all a bad thing, unless you were going for the extreme shiny red lip.

If you were going for the super shiny red lip. Then apply your lipstick first, the translucent powder next, and lastly put on a CLEAR gloss. That way if its the gloss that smears, it'll be an easy fix since your color won't be smeared, just a little bit of shine.
