Diets don't work because they are only temporary. You need to change the way you live if you want to lose weight and keep it off. 
Diet sodas are far worse for your body than the original. To lose weight just stick to the original drink. Diet drinks are made of artificial sweeteners which your body can't get rid of so your body surrounds it with fat and stores it in your body, never getting rid of it. Which makes more fat.

I would cut down on these goodies one at a time till eventually you don't need to eat them anymore, or you can have an occasional bite. Honestly we are humans and we need to binge sometimes.

Sodas are amazing. I use to drink them everyday. Like five a day. I started to cut back gradually and now I drink one like every two months. Not to say sometimes I don't cheat. 
Coming from a girl who eats pizza every week I wouldn't dare tell you to give this amazing thing up. 

In pizza most of the calories come from the crust. So find you a good thin crust and eat all the pizza you want. (Not all thin crust taste good) (Papa Johns is good.)

So you know how you ride around the parking lot looking for a close parking spot? Don't do that! 
Park in the middle of more towards the back. Your car is less likely to get hit and you get some exercise in. Only do this during daylight. I warned you! 
But don't do this if your pulling a twelve in the morning Walmart run. Park as close as possible then. It's late at night and who knows what people are just waiting to do something suspicious.

Here's how to cheat that water rule. 
For some reason you drink more water when drinking out of a straw. I assume just cause I'm lazy and I don't want to screw the cap off a water bottle. 
Grab your favorite Tumblr and fill it with water. Just watch how much more water your drink with a straw. Also refill it with water when empty or take turns. 
After you finished entire cup fill it with any beverage you like. When that beverage done fill with water and repeat.

Find you a list of things to do. Like jumping jacks, crunches, leg stretches and do those every morning. It boost the metabolism of you do it in the morning. 
Start with five of each or any number and each day just increase it. 
I did it over he summer and let me tell you it worked. It's started off slow but by the middle of the summer I had lost five pounds.  
Eat all three meals and add some snacks in. I eat fruit snacks and gum. You can even have a smoothie as a snack or meal choice.

Skipping meals is never the way to go. If your not hungry eat something small, cause your body is hungry.
In reality the best way to lose weight is to set your own goals. I have followed all of these and they have worked. You don't need a gym membership or some diet plan to lose weight. It's the small things that will help you lose weight. Even walking around your neighborhood or just stretching during commercials will help. It's all about what you want to do.
